The Motorola FLIPOUT is one of those devices that you will either really like or dislike, it is not for everyone by any means due to its unique design and form factor.
We knew it would be a successful device, but we have been surprised at just how popular it has been.
The FLIPOUT has proven particularly popular with a younger and female audience the reasons for which should become apparent.

The Motorola FLIPOUT is now in stock and shipping at Clove. This unique new handset comes with a black and a white cover in the box and we are expecting a pack of coloured FLIPOUT covers to be released soon (which should include Blue, Orange and Purple covers). However, its not just the changeable covers that make this new Android smartphone unique.
As is made clear by the name, the Motorola FLIPOUT opens differently to any other device on the market with its ‘flip’ mechanism. While this is an important part of the handset’s compact design, it’s also a fun feature that will have you constantly playing with your phone.

MOTOBLUR organises your friends, social network updates and messages into one place, making your device a hub for all communication. I love this little phone to bits! It is completely different to anything I have used before and for that alone it has charmed me. That is a shallow reason to like a phone I know, but if I like it this much because of the shape imagine what teenagers will think of it. And maybe this is the FLIPOUT’S biggest problem?
People who want an Android phone want a big screen or at the very least something that looks semi-serious. People who want a trendy phone that is unusual and catches the eye will want to send messages, mess about on it and do little else. The FLIPOUT is a smartphone that looks like it should be on a teenage girl’s shopping list and thus it may struggle in both markets.
Having said all of that, there is a lot to like about the FLIPOUT and for novelty value alone it is refreshing in almost every way. The fact that it is actually a very good smartphone may be lost on many people though.

Here at Clove we’re getting rather excited about the release of the Motorola FLIPOUT – one of the snazziest Android handsets that we’ve seen to date. Having now received news that the price on launch will be £199 + VAT, we’re tipping the Android 2.1 Smartphone to be a rather popular handset.
Yesterday Jon posted an initial hands-on with the FLIPOUT to give a sneak preview of what to expect from the device, due for release in September.

Last week I had a Motorola FLIPOUT arrive at the office.
Some of you may have seen a few images that I posted of some live in hand shots on the Clove Technology twitter account (@clovetechnology).
I thought I would just share a few quick thoughts with you regarding the FLIPOUT. Reviews are still rather scarce and can sometimes be a bit ‘fluffy’ so below are a few initial thoughts and impressions as I handled the device.
The X-Mini II Speaker is now in stock at Clove.co.uk, pictured to the left with the Motorola FLIPOUT. This really is a must-have gadget for anyone owning a Smartphone, or any other portable music device such as an iPod.
This handy little gadget is guaranteed to impress friends and family the first time you show them. If they’re not impressed, its probably because they’ve already got one. If that is the case, you’ll be able to connect the speakers together, thanks to the X-Mini II’s ‘Buddy jack’.
The X-Mini II is connected to your device with a 3.5mm Jack, the same jack used by a pair of headphones. It also has a 3.5mm jack of its own, meaning you can plug as many additional speakers into each other as you like.
The design of the X-Mini II really is very neat and you’ll be amazed at the sound quality it provides given that it’s little bigger than a golf ball and is powered by a rechargeable battery. 
When not being used, the 3.5mm cable tucks under the bottom of the speaker, preventing it from tangling or getting damaged while in your pocket. The X-Mini II also sports a mini-USB port, which is used to recharge the device. A single charge can provide up to 11 hours of music playback, again impressive given its size.
At just £20 + VAT you will not be disappointed with the X-Mini II Speaker. It’s perfect for any device with a 3.5mm jack and a superb addition to large screen device such as the HTC Desire, HTC HD2 and Samsung Galaxy S that are ideal for video playback.
