HTC confirms which handsets will get ICS

HTC has released a list of its handsets that will be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. There are a few in there that you might not have expected, but it’s good to see HTC is updating as many as possible. Unfortunately no time frame has been specified yet, although the Sensation and Sensation XE updates have already started rolling out in some regions. Included below is the full list of devices that will be updated, those highlighted in bold are UK handsets.

HTC Rhyme Officially announced–expected 8th October

HTC has made an official announcement this afternoon regarding the HTC Rhyme, known as the HTC Bliss by codename. We can confirm that we are expecting the first stock of the Rhyme to be available on October 8th. We will confirm a price shortly and make it available to pre-order on the Clove website.

The Rhyme is a handset that is tailored towards the female audience, coming complete with a glowing ‘charm cable’ that alerts the user of incoming messages, calls and updates. Other accessories available for HTC’s new device include a sports armband, docking station and Bluetooth headset. The main features of the HTC Rhyme are as follows:

  • Android Gingerbread 2.3 with HTC Sense 3.5
  • 3.7” WVGA display
  • 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash
  • 1GHZ single-core processor
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G
