HTC Desire HD Hard Case with Kickstand HC-K550 available to pre-order at Clove

When HTC released the HTC HD2 BP E400 Extended Battery we were all impressed by the great idea that was the kickstand.

HTC have clearly picked up on how popular this was and are now offering a similar innovation for the HTC Desire HD.

The HTC Desire HD Hard Case with Kickstand does not include an extended battery, but is instead a tough polycarbonate shell that includes a kickstand for propping your device at a good viewing angle.

This official case from HTC snaps to the back of your HTC Desire HD and has precise cut-outs so that there is still full access to the camera and ports.

We are expecting the fist stock to arrive in March and are now accepting pre-orders for the HC-K550 case.

HTC Desire HD antenna cover now available

If you have lost or damaged your antenna cover on your HTC Desire HD is is probably a bit frustrating.  Well we can probably help, we can now supply these as a spare/accessory.

It is quite expensive for what it is (that is not us making it expensive – it is HTC). BUT, it protects your device and looks much better than a missing or broken one!

Sony Ericsson Arc listed on Clove website–Register your interest now!

Following the announcement of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc at CES 2011, the new Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) smartphone is now listed on the Clove website.

At the moment we are still waiting for a price and release date to be confirmed, although most the specs have been released by Sony. Hopefully we’ll see a release within Q1 of 2011.

The Arc is comparable to a couple of handsets currently on the market in terms of spec, such as the HTC Desire HD and Samsung Galaxy S. However, the Google Nexus S is the only handset currently available with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, although there could be an update for the Desire HD available by the time the Arc launches.

There are a few nice features that Sony has included, namely a ‘Reality’ shatterproof display, the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine and Sony’s Exmor R photo enhancement technology. For a full list of the spec, with videos and images, click here.

HTC Desire HD Desktop Cradle Review

All too often we post about new mobile devices and sometimes forget about the accessories which can make all the difference when it comes to using and owning a device.

The Desire HD is one new mobile that you can not have missed, there has been so much talk about it.

One of the items that we believe is essential is a desktop cradle, especially with the Desire HD as it is a bit power hungry and often needs a little extra power.

Dave at Geekanoids has helped us out again and put together a review of the cradle.  Take a look at it below.

Not a bad solution?!

Available to order for immediate dispatch, just click here to do so.

Also now available is a desktop cradle with additional battery slot should you wish to charge a spare battery at the same time.

Please do let us know what you think.  DO you use a desktop cradle?  Think they are worth the time and money or are they just an expensive luxury?

HTC Desire HD Review

“This iteration of Sense is much smoother, faster, and gets in the way much less often … the launcher portion of Sense UI is finally everything I’d hoped it would be”

“The camera app on the Desire HD is by far the best I’ve ever used”

Thanks to Joe Levi from pocketnow.com for compiling a full review of the Desire HD with one of our demonstration units. You can read a short excerpt below and click HERE to read the full review

“A lot of people have called the HTC Desire HD an EVO 4G for GSM carriers. While the form factor and specifications may seem similar, there are a lot of differences behind the Desire HD’s ample screen. It’s the screen itself that will grab your attention, and well it should. When it comes to screen dimensions, somewhere there is a line between “not big enough” and “too big”. I don’t think we’ve found that magic number just yet: the Desire HD’s 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 WVGA screen is “ginormous”, but not awkwardly so.

Many of you prefer having a physical keyboard to a slimmer phone. This phone almost does away with that need. When rotated horizontally, the phone’s on-screen keyboard is every bit as usable and finger-friendly as the physical keyboards that I’ve used in the past. Speaking of keyboards, the phone comes pre-packaged with HTC’s soft-keyboard (or “IME”), which is one of the more advanced, intelligent soft-keyboards that I’ve used – a large improvement over the stock Android IME (which is pretty good to start with). I was hoping for Swype to come pre-installed on the phone; it was not, and I had to install my beta copy (which loses some functionality when it’s not built onto the phone – more on that later).”

HTC Desire HD – Shipping Dates

HTC_Desire_HD_Dark_Brown_Front Back Given the very high level of enquiries on the shipment dates for orders of the Desire HD we have put together this blog post which we hope will keep you informed.  We will update it regularly and this should be your reference point for information.

As with many of the recent HTC launches the demand has been very strong and the supply has been both poor and subject to change in dates.

We therefore wish to try and advise of the current situation as best we can.

Due to the very poor supply and high demand, we have taken the very difficult but necessary action to disable the ability to purchase the Desire HD on the www.clove.co.uk website and will only re-instate this facility once we have cleared our backorders or had more positive news on supply.

If you have already placed an order do not be concerned – we still have your order.

13 DECEMBER STOCK UPDATE:

DESIRE HD IS NOW IN STOCK – ALL ORDERS SHIPPING AS NORMAL

We process all orders as quickly as we can once stock arrives but can not guarantee dispatch on the above dates and may charge in advance.

We appreciate your patience in this situation which is very difficult and frustrating for all of us. Remember we are very keen to ship your order as soon as we can. We will keep this blog post updated with regard to shipping dates as best we can.

When your Desire HD ships you will receive despatch notification (including your package tracking number) by email. Due to the current situation we are getting a very high number of email enquiries requesting specific delivery dates on individual orders which we cannot confirm. Please use the above information, which will be updated regularly to find out the expected shipping date of your order.

We respectfully ask you not to email us about your specific order.

HTC Desire HD Video Demonstration

Carrying on the series the latest video is a demonstration of the Desire HD video capabilities.

It can record at 720P and Joe at www.pocketnow.com has put together a short video which demonstrates the capabilities of the camera.

Whilst it struggles with the contrast in some lights, needing a moment to adjust the settings in brighter light the definition is much better.  Whilst this may not replace a dedicated video camera if you are a serious video recorder, the quality is such that we are sure for the most of you the quality will be more than acceptable.

Make your own opinion below:

HTCSense.com (which isn’t actually live yet) is a cloud back up service that will be introduced using the new sense, allowing you to back up data such as text messages, or track your device if its lost.

HTC Likes apps (Above Top)

A much needed improvement to the Android marketplace. Hopefully it won’t be too long until the whole marketplace gets a revamp, but for the time being additions such as HTC Likes will help. This feature of the new sense displays recommended apps and lets you give them the thumbs up if you like them, Facebook-style.

Skins for homescreen (Above Bottom)

This feature makes customization easy on the new Desire devices. Included skins are metal and varnished wood, with extras available to download.
