The Huawei Mate 20 X was announced alongside the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro at Huawei’s launch event in October.

Is the Huawei Mate 20 X water resistant?
The Huawei Mate 20 X comes with an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance which is noticeably lower than a lot of other flagships.
This means that the device will be ‘protected from water falling as a spray at any angle up to 60 degrees from the vertical’ and as such, cannot be submerged in any water for any length of time and should also be shielded from more forceful jet sprays of water.
It’s also important to remember that all IP ratings are awarded following testing in fresh water which does not take into account many other common situations. Salt water in particular can have a very different impact on mobile phones and can often be corrosive, damaging outer seals and circuit boards inside the device.
Is the Huawei Mate 20 X Dual SIM?
The Huawei Mate 20 X comes as a Dual SIM variant as well as a Single SIM option.
The Dual SIM variant is a Hybrid Dual SIM which means that the second slot within the phone can be used for a second SIM or for a microSD card, depending on your preference. Indeed, the Mate 20 X supports microSD cards of up to 256GB so that you have more than enough storage for all of your media and photos.
With the dual SIM, either card slot can be set to accommodate the primary or the secondary SIM and two Nano SIMS are supported.
The Dual SIM variant of the Huawei Mate 20 X will be available from Clove early in January 2019.
Does the Huawei Mate 20 X support wireless charging?
Despite the fact that the Huawei Mate 20 X comes crafted with a glass back, it does not support wireless charging.
This could be slightly disappointing for some, particularly as the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro both come with that wireless support and impressive 15W charger.
That said, the Huawei Mate 20 X does come packaged with Huawei’s SuperCharge Mains Charger which will get you up and running in no time.
Does the Huawei Mate 20 X have a headphone jack?
Headphone jack fans, rejoice!
The Huawei Mate 20 X comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top that is becoming a rarity for flagship devices in 2018.
Hold onto those trusty headphones. Or perhaps you fancy an upgrade? The Mate 20 X also comes packaged with a pair of 3.5mm headphones in the box.
Does the Huawei Mate 20 X have a notch?
Now, we know the inclusion of a notch is a big put off for many and so you may not be pleased to discover that the Huawei Mate 20 X does have a notch.
That said, the notch is very small and is crafted in the water-drop style and so we barely noticed it during our time with the device. Importantly, it minimises the top bezel of the Mate 20 X significantly, which allows the smartphone to have a whopping 87% screen to body ratio that is essential for such a large phone.
Why should I be excited about the Huawei Mate 20 X?
The Huawei Mate 20 X is a dream for media lovers and photographers alike.
The 7.2-inch Full HD display is bright and vivid and, coupled with dual symmetrical speakers, is absolutely perfect for watching movies or playing games. The device has been crafted with a unique LiquidCool system that ensures that the Mate 20 X won’t overheat even whilst during the most intense gaming sessions.
