LG V40 Due Early January
LG’s V series is the pinnacle of their design and technology each year. Previous models introduced second-screen technology and unparalleled audio quality. This continues in the V40 with a Hi-Fi Quad DAC, 5-camera set-up and FullView display.
V40 is due to the UK market in early January. We can’t tell you the price just yet, but early indications from LG tell us it’s going to be very competitive next to similarly-specced handsets. You can register your interest with us today and we will notify once orders open.

The new Penta Camera features five lenses; three on the back and two on the front. The rear set-up is rated at 12MP (f/1.5 standard-angle), 12MP (f/12.4 telephoto) and 16MP (f/1.9 super-wide angle).
LG’s camera software gives you visibility of all 3 lenses, so you can pick the best option available from the view screen. Alternatively, the standard automatic shooting combines all 3 into a conglomerate image, or lets you pick your preferred shot post-capture.
The dual selfie camera has similar tricks, plus several editing options available for the Instagram generation. 3D lighting effects, custom backgrounds, object removal/insertion, GOF creation, filters and animated emoji are all available at the touch of a button.
Google Lens & Assistant are also fully integrated into the camera software. Coupled with LG’s AI machine-learning for content recognition, Google Lens offers context-sensitive information about your subject via location data and Google’s vast database.
Hi-Fi Quad DAC & enhanced DTS:X audio
It takes more than just a great screen to create an immersive media experience. The V40 ThinQ has a great screen of course – a 6.4″ QHD+ OLED panel no less – but it goes further with audio enhancements.
Audiophiles have held previous LG V-series in high regard due to the inclusion of a top-quality DAC (Digital to Analog Converter). They’ll be pleased to hear this returns in the V40 ThinQ, alongside DTS:X 3D enhancements that provide a surround-style audio profile whether through the phone speakers or your own earphones.
