The Huawei Mate 20 X is a device that we’ve been excited about for a very long time here at Clove.

Now, Huawei announced the device back in October and we are currently taking pre-orders for the Dual SIM, Midnight Blue variant so head on over to our website now to check that out and register your interest.

The Mate 20 X has been crafted superbly with one main intention; delivering high-quality graphics on a stunning, large display. The device promises an incredible experience in photography, media and gaming, as well as that all-important day-to-day general use.

So, what exactly can you expect to see on release day?!

    Display

So, when we said large, we really weren’t exaggerating. The Huawei Mate 20 X comes with a 7.2-inch – yes, 7.2-inch – Full HD AMOLED display. To put that into perspective, this measures in at almost a whole inch larger than the Mate 20 Pro and 0.7-inches bigger than the iPhone Xs Max.

Now it’s clear that Huawei have skewed this device more towards gaming and with a 2244 x 1080-pixel resolution at 346 pixels per inch, you’ll be guaranteed an immersive experience, whether you’re battling in Fortnite or sitting back with Netflix.

A waterdrop style notch ensures that only a very small amount of screen is disturbed which allows for a large 87.83% screen to body ratio – perfect for gaming!

    Camera

You’ll be very pleased to hear that the extraordinary camera setup found on Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro will also feature on the Mate 20 X.

The Leica triple lens camera comes fitted with a main 40MP sensor, 20MP ultra-wide-angle lens and 8MP offering. I’ve been using the Mate 20 Pro for a few weeks now and can assure you that you won’t be disappointed when it comes to photography.

Huawei’s AI technology really is incredible and can recognise more than 1500 scenes, whilst AI video editor can identify faces and create separate video highlights for each person, saving you time and effort when editing videos for loved ones.

With this, you can be more or less guaranteed perfect pictures every single time which will look incredible on such a large display.

     Speakers

Now, if you’re a media lover then this device really does pull out all the stops.

The Mate 20 X comes with dual symmetrical speakers at both ends of the device which offer a super high dynamic range of up to 40 dB so that every sound, no matter how loud, is produced in outstanding clarity, richness and depth.

We’re really excited to test these out, particularly as within the phone’s software, you’re really able to take control with a range of use specific sound tools.

    Performance

As with the Mate 20 Pro, the Mate 20 X comes fitted with a HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset which is perfect for serious mobile gamers as we haven’t seen any early reports of lag or frame rate issues.

The device is powered by GPU Turbo 2.0 technology in which hardware and software work hand in hand to accelerate speed and power, for faster, smoother and more stable gaming, even in complex and graphically intense games.

An industry leading 5000mAh battery and AI driven resource allocation deliver a staggering level of power which Huawei claim can more than handle intense gaming and long working hours.

Also, if you really are taking your gaming levels up a notch, then the device comes with Huawei SuperCool – the world’s first liquid multi-dimensional cooling system that conducts head away from the core to keep the phone cool. We’re yet to test this out ourselves, but early reports look really really positive.

    Design

As you may agree, Huawei have become synonymous with crafting some really attractive devices and the Mate 20 X is certainly no different.

Much like the Mate 20 Pro, the glass on the back of the Mate 20 X has a machined texture unlike any other to create a non-slip finish that is also coated in an anti-fingerprint solution. This is ideal considering that the fingerprint sensor is also on the rear of the device and can be used to swipe – for example through your phone’s gallery. Your stunning Midnight Blue finish will therefore glisten at every angle.

As you can see, this a device to be really excited about and is absolutely perfect for gamers, photographers and media lovers alike. The display is simply like no other and with such a rich audio system, it looks as though you can so easily get lost in your device.

If you have any questions or queries about the Mate 20 X be sure to let us know, and make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel as well as heading to our social media pages.

We will be receiving stock of the Midnight Blue, 128GB, Dual SIM variant of the device early in December. You can pre-order your device now on our website for £799.99 so go and check it out!
