Rumour Round-Up: BlackBerry Key2
The key will come out tomorrow! We all may have been temporarily distracted by Apple’s WWDC, but it’s time to reinvigorate. BlackBerry are set to announce their latest device in New York tomorrow, and whilst we cannot confirm legitimacy, we’ve rounded up the extensive list of Key2 rumours to save you the time.
Display and Design
Rumours suggest that the Key2 features no real major aesthetics changes in comparison to it’s predecessor. The 4.5-inch display sits above a touch enabled back lit physical QWERTY keyboard that has an integrated fingerprint sensor on the space key.
The IPS LCD display has a 1620 x 1080-pixel resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. This allows for 434PPI on a screen crafted with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Key2 is rumoured to continue recent trends, with a dual rear camera that measures in at 12MP and 12MP. HDR 4K video recording is enabled at 30 frames per second, whilst the rear camera reportedly comes with dual tone LED flash and phase detect auto focus.
An 8MP fixed-focus front camera records 1080p video at 30fps. A selfie flash is enabled via the device’s LCD display.
Rejoice! The Key2 is rumoured to be coming with a 3.5mm headphone jack! High Definition Audio capabilities improve audio playback significantly. Similarly, dual microphone placement alongside improved noise cancellation allow for impressive call quality.
The BlackBerry Key2 will run the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. A rumoured Qualcomm SDM660 processor is respectable and the powerful Kryo 260 CPU has up to 20% higher performance than it’s prior model.
A 3500mAh reported battery supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 so that you don’t have to be without your device for long.
The BlackBerry Key2 is rumoured to be available with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM.
