What We Know Following the Huawei Y3 (2018) Leak
Following the release of the Huawei Y3 (2017) last year, the Y3 (2018) has been in the works for a while. But finally we get a glimpse into what Huawei has in store, as the Y3 (2018) features on the brand’s Ghanaian website. But what did we find out and how does it differ to it’s predecessor?
The screen of the new device will be 5 inches and have a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, the same as the 2017 Y3. Both devices feature an entry-level Mediatek MT6737M Chip and 8GB of storage.
Similarly, Huawei have made no noticeable improvements to the camera, as both devices feature a 8MP rear camera and 2MP fixed-focus shooter on the front.
However, this is Huawei’s first Android Go smartphone and will run Android 8.1 compared to the Y3 (2017)’s Android 6.0. Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) has been crafted to excel with entry-level smartphones and is thus potentially the device’s main selling point.
Finishing off the early spec release is a 2280mAh battery that slightly excels the 2017’s 2200mAh.
Early signs show that the Y3 (2018) will be available in White, Gold and Grey. No pricing has yet been announced.
