Nokia 8 Sirocco with Android One due 23rd April
Nokia’s resurgence continues unabated into 2018. The brand that just won’t die has announced another range of handsets to hit various price points. First up is the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
Clove UK is expecting to stock the Black Nokia 8 Sirocco for £649.99 (£541.66 ex-VAT). First stock is due by April 23rd.
Nokia 8 Sirocco looks to offer fairly high-end performance at a price slightly below the top names. If you want a top range phone but the ever-increasing prices being charged by Samsung and co. seem too much, Nokia’s offering could be just what you’re after.
Sure to hit the headlines is the “unbendable” claim. Horror stories of bendy iPhones might just have slipped out of the average consumer’s memory yet this is still a bold claim to make. Sirocco’s frame is a single piece of machined stainless steel, topped with full 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5. I won’t be throwing Clove’s stock down the stairs but I’m sure plenty of YouTubers will be up to the challenge…
Elsewhere Nokia has opted for the Snapdragon 835 processor. This has just been superseded (Sony are using the 845 in their XZ2), yet I doubt the average consumer would notice a difference. A high-resolution 5.5″ P-OLED display is your window to Nokia’s world.
A key selling point of new Nokia models has been their clean installation of Android. This continues with the Sirocco which is Android One certified. Android OS updates and patches beyond 8.0 Oreo will be swift thanks to this.
