It’s also an intelligent home assistant. HomePod responds to your commands, handling simple tasks and controlling elements of your growing smart home.

Wrapped in a seamless mesh fabric designed for both aesthetic and acoustic performance, Homepod is available in White and Space Grey. With a hyper-modern style that blends into many aesthetics, HomePod is also unobtrusive at just under 18 centimetres tall, fitting into many spaces in your home.

    Apple HomePod Key Features

    Audio Technology

Apple has completely designed the audio delivery in the HomePod from the ground up. This combines Apple’s world-famous industrial design with Apple-engineered software enhancements to provide a high fidelity experience in a huge variety of differing spaces.

    Deep bass

Apple’s custom high-excursion woofer has a custom amplifier which can play a wide range of deep, rich bass. Even in such a compact, the diaphragm is driven a full 20 millimetres.

Software enhancements continuously analyse the music being played to tune the frequencies for the smoothest, most immersive basslines.

    Seven tweeters

An array of seven beamforming tweeters – each with its own amplifier and transducer – produces a unique sound profile from HomePod.

Each one also has a custom-designed precision acoustic horn to focus sound. This provides excellent directional control and is instrumental in developing an immersive, all-encompassing sound to envelop almost any size room.

    A8 processor

Just like Apple’s smartphones and tablets, an in-house designed processor powers everything HomePod does.

This is responsible for the real-time modelling of the woofer mechanics and intelligent buffering of streamed content. Upmixing direct and ambient audio, as well as beamforming audio output to allow the mic to hear your voice over the music is all handled by the A8 chip.

    Simple installation

There’s no need to worry about wires and complex pairing. Setting up HomePod is as simple as possible. Just plug it in, turn on and any compatible iOS device in range will detect it.

If you have an Apple Music subscription then HomePod is built to bring out the best from your experience.

Combining the intelligence of Siri with access to a vast array of tracks & artists, HomePod can become your personal DJ & Tastemaker, learning your genre preferences and helping you to discover interesting new music.

Over 45 million songs in your home

Apple Music has access to music from several major global publishers so chances are you’ll be able to find what you want to listen to. Siri can help you find exactly what you want to hear, and guess what you want to hear next — including tracks from a huge range of genres and moods.

If friends and family are connected to your Wi‑Fi network then they can stream music straight to your HomePod. Don’t have Apple Music? Apple is offering three months free with only a rolling monthly service after this.

    Learns what you love.

As you’re listening to a song, HomePod is listening out for you. Just say “Hey Siri, I like this” or “Hey Siri, add this to my party playlist”. Based on what you say and play, Apple Music & Siri learn your taste in music. This means that after a while you can just let HomePod pick the songs! Open Apple Music on any other device and your playlists & preferences are just where you left them.

HomePod isn’t just for music. With the power of Siri, you can also use the system to update you on the latest news, traffic, sport and weather.

Just like Siri on your phone or tablet, you can use HomePod to set reminders and tasks and send messages. You can also hand off phone calls from an iPhone to HomePod seamlessly.

HomePod can also be used as a hub for controlling connected smart home accessories. Whether you have a single smart light bulb or a fully integrated and automated thermostat & heating system, you can just use your voice to make adjustments.

Siri has all kinds of answers

Thanks to Siri, HomePod is great at the things you want to know – and do – in your home. Set timers. Convert measurements. And get live news, sport, weather and traffic. You can also create lists that anyone can add to.

At home with calls and messages

Use HomePod to send messages using just your voice. And when you receive a text, Siri can read it to you. For hands-free conversations, start or receive a call on your iPhone and hand it off to HomePod.

    Command a room

Just say “Hey Siri, turn on the lights” or “Hey Siri, make the room cooler”. You can even ask Siri to set scenes, like “Good morning”, that put multiple accessories to work — all at once. A wide range of accessories work with Apple’s HomeKit platform. Just add an accessory to the Home app, then control it with your voice on HomePod.
