Nokia! What a brand. For a time, they were by far and away the most successful and recognised mobile manufacturer in the world.

Of course technology evolves rapidly. Unfortunately Nokia weren’t able to capture the imaginations of consumers during the smartphone boom in the same way as Apple, and later, Samsung.

Still the brand has continued to persevere in the feature phone space. Now in 2017, they’re back to try and take up a commanding position in the mid-range Android smartphone space.

This is a very competitive area. At first glance though, Nokia’s new models look very appealing; especially considering the prices we’ve just been provided.

Now these aren’t phones to compete with Apple or Samsung at the top-tier. A quick glance at the specifications makes that clear. Instead what Nokia are looking to do is focus at the more affordable end of the market.

Smartphones have become a commodity and almost everyone now owns one. Nokia want to once again be the “go-to” brand for anyone interested in a new phone that simply works and doesn’t break the bank to obtain.

All of the Android phones will be running a stock installation. This means no additional apps or bloatware.

    Nokia 5 – £189.99

Nokia 5 SIM Free UK CloveSlightly lower down the specification, the 5 still offers cracking value. One major difference is a decrease in screen size and resolution to 720p. This could though be a benefit to those not interested in the largest handsets.

There’s also a slight downtick in the casing, this model having an aluminium frame rather than being fully milled. Overall this could offer one of the best value for money experiences under £200.
