LG G3 QuickCircle Case Update

2 versions of the LG G3 QuickCircle case coming to the UK: ‘snap-on’ and ‘replacement-cover’.

LG_G3_QuickCircle_CaseNothing’s ever too simple in the mobile industry and even when it comes to accessories, some manufacturers like to provide a lot of choice.

We’ve known the LG G3 would be receiving an official QuickCircle case since its initial announcement. What we weren’t expecting was more than one version!

As seen by some reports from customers in Asian territories, 2 versions of the QuickCircle case exist; one that simply snaps on to the back of the phone and another that replaces the original backplate.

LG have now confirmed to us that both versions are coming to the UK and should be available from the 21st July in Metallic Black, Silk White and Champagne Gold.

Do they support wireless charging?

Initial reports suggest that the ‘snap-on’ version will not cater for the built-in wireless charging capabilities in the G3. The ‘replacement-cover’ version however should have pin contacts so it can still be used with Qi wireless charging plates such as LG’s WCD-100.

Reports of the replacement-cover version in Asian territories are conflicting however, with two subversions existing, one of which doesn’t have charging contacts. This seems to be due to an Asian G3 variant existing without Qi charging built in.

We therefore remain confident that the replacement-cover stock we are receiving will support the wireless charging, as the UK D855 G3 model we sell has this built in.

Pricing

The G3 QuickCircle snap-on is priced at £24.99 (£20.82 ex-VAT).

The G3 QuickCircle replacement-backplate is priced at £29.99 (£24.99 ex-VAT).

The Black, White & Gold versions are first due in by July 21st. Pink and Green/Mint options may arrive later, although we are still waiting on confirmation of these.

There is one in asia that lights up around the circle as well called smart light or something. Is clove getting that one?

Hi Timothy, reports on this vary from person to person.
My understanding is that all the cases do this – it is in fact not the case that is lighting up, rather the edge of the circular section of visible screen is made to go very bright white when a notification comes in, or you use one of the window applications.
If anyone has better information that would be appreciated

Hi Colin, we haven’t had the first stock yet. It might be another 1-2 weeks although we’re pushing to get them as soon as possible
