Further delays have been caused by a last minute change in commercials by Samsung.

Stock is now expected late next week approx (28th May).  The selling price has also increased as a result.

Customers affected by the delay have been notified and the new higher price on the website.

The blue colour option has also been removed, with only Black or White available for purchase.

Should delays with any particular colour(s) occur next week, then affected customers will be contacted with up to date stock information and their available options.

The supply of SIM free stock is ultimately in the hands of Samsung; until next week all official UK Galaxy S5 stock is to be sold directly by them or their chosen partners.

Clove’s shipment, along with other online retailers who have been waiting for UK stock, is to be fulfilled by a distribution partner in conjunction with Samsung.

On a slightly more positive note, Android Central have confirmed that the S5 is still subject to a region lock, but they have made it clearer how to remove this.

There is a label on the box that reads:

European Model: This product should be activated with a SIM card issued from a mobile operator within Europe (as defined EU/EEA, Switzerland and the following Non-EEA countries Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M), Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia and Vatican City.) To use SIM cards from other regions, a cumulative call over five minutes must first be made with the SIM card from European operators.

If you are ordering from Clove to a country outside of the intended region, you will be asked at the checkout to confirm your acceptance of this limitation as well as your consent for the box to be opened and  the device activated on your behalf.

  1. Have Samsung given a reason for prioritising the Networks over Internet outlets like Clove?

      Apparently, Samsung are ‘so swamped with orders from the networks’ (or something to that effect), that they cannot spare any stock for the online distribution channel…
      Apart from that we don’t really have any more information and certainly nothing official from their PR.

    So does this mean that it is likely that stock will not be available for online retailers like Clove, Amazon for a few months? Delays just keep on extending now. Just seems ridiculous that Samsung didn’t plan to have enough stock available for online channels.

      We’ve heard today that there will ‘be no stock in April’ from our contacts.
      Hopefully we will have stock in the first half of May, and have updated our message to that effect.
      At this time though we do not have any confirmed date from Samsung directly or their UK distribution team / partners.

      Well that would be a Sunday, so I probably won’t be here to update you!
      We’d love to get an update for early next week but at this time Samsung’s distribution partners still haven’t contacted us.

    I just hope that it is not delayed until June/July. It has been long enough now. It is especially concerning that Samsung or Distribution partners STILL haven’t provided an exact date yet.

      We’ve updated today tobylo.
      Stock arriving next week (12 – 16th) although exact dates and colours / numbers to be confirmed.
      We should have something more definitive early next week

      If these arrive early in the day we can start shipping, otherwise we will aim to begin shipping on Monday 19th.

    Since we are now in the middle of week 12-16th, do you have any updates?
