The Mail on Sunday has recently run an article on the Fitbit Flex where it was awarded the accolade of Gadget of the Week. The reviewer Rob Waugh described the Fitbit Flex as being an affordable way to keep fit for the rest of us. It was found to be more accurate than typical Android fitness apps and it was quoted “the accelerometer could differentiate between vigorous exercise – racing for a bus – and the languid pace usually adopted when fetching a handbag from upstairs.”
The design of the Fitbit Flex was described as being less showy than other similar products with barely any display being on show, meaning you can use it far more discreetly. The stand-out feature of the Flex was identified as being its ability to instantly deliver info to your phone via Bluetooth rather than needing a physical connection to synchronise. This results in you always being able to open the app to obtain up to date information on how many steps you have taken and what calories have been burned. The result being that you take a little bit more interest in you fitness.
Other notable features included the sleep log which offers a graph showing how restful your sleep was based on movement and the silent vibration alarm so you can be woken without disturbing your partner or set to as an unobtrusive reminder during the day. Finally the waterproofing of the Fitbit Flex is a great addition allowing it to be worn in the shower or used in a swimming pool.
