If I could design my own phone…

I wonder how far away we are from having the ability to build our own smartphone? I am willing to stake a claim that the first company to have the resources to support an online smartphone building facility will make it BIG!

We all have features on our Smartphones that we wouldn’t substitute for anything, but I can guarantee that most smartphone users would get rid of a few things given the chance. Could you imagine having the option to take your favourite features from all the very latest phones on the market? Lets pretend we don’t live in a world where patenting is an issue, this will allow us to dream a little longer!

Whilst we are probably several years away from having this luxury I will try to create my very own Smartphone from the specifications on our range of devices.

Why not create your own smartphone and post your favourite features in the comments section below.

Not sure why you would go the IOS route an add Google parts personally I would go the Android route, but add the “security” of the AppStore apps and of course iTunes although by then I suspect apps like doubletwist (my preference on my sony for organising music etc) will have advanced enough to give iTunes the competition.

The look of an iPhone4s really? The size yes but I rather have the “seethroughness” of Tony Starks phone in Iron Man.

Power and Performance wise your numbers seem right

  2. So basically you want an Android phone but running iOS?
why not just as for all that with Android (since it’s a better OS) cos it will be more than possible in the next couple of months.

Well, what I really would like to see is a Google Nexus Lumia. Vanilla 4.2 Android in a 4.7″ Lumia device, with great screen and camera and all the goodies that Nexii phones bring!
But because of Nokia’s stubbornness I’d be happy with a new HTC Nexus phone with a 1080p 5″ screen with software keys and a camera with Lytro technology.

Am I asking to much? (I guess I am)

    Fold-out screen.

But if we’re going for currently-available tech then maybe the S3 with a Qualcomm S4 CPU (paired with the Adreno 320 GPU) and an S-Pen. And the other cool stuff from the Note II; I’ve already got the pop-up browser and the gallery but I wan’t the split-screen functionality.
