Google announces Android event for October 29th–coincides with Windows 8 Launch

Google has sent out invitations for an Android event to be held at the end of the month in New York. The event will take place on October 29th – the same day that Microsoft is due to officially unveil its new Windows 8 up its sleeve. If the last Google conference is anything to go by (Google I/O), the Android creators could well have something up their sleeve that will steal the headlines from Microsoft.

The web has been awash recently with Nexus rumours – with an LG Nexus device all but confirmed, as well as talk of a Sony Nexus device. The event kicks of at 10AM in New York (2PM UK time) and will be streamed live on YouTube for all to watch.
