Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Features Introduction [Video]

This official video was posted up over the weekend, showing off the best features of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note II, which began shipping from Clove today. A nicely-done video that shows off some of the Note 2’s most powerful selling points.

    Chris,
Do me a favour please……. Can you ask Jon if when he had a look at the Note 2 he noticed or not the ‘Multi-Window’ feature as found in the video at 2mins 05sec.

The reason I ask is there is a strong belief this feature is missing in the UK International Note 2′s.

      Hi Mike,

Unfortunately it looks as though the UK International Note 2 does not have Multi-Windows; I have just tested a handset. Do you have any indication of which versions of the Note II it is included with?

      • It looks as if there are a few different ROM builds floating around, XXALIK (*#1234# on the dialer) and above has multiscreen, anything below (eg. XXALIE seems most common for the Euro variant) doesn’t. So, it’s probably just waiting for an update to be released. Feels like they may have rushed this one out of the door to damp down enthusiasm for… err… another phone.

        • Ooops, which is pretty much what Mike said earlier! But the point I was trying to make is that devices with this functionality are being found in the UK, there’s a bit of variation in stock.

          • Chris Ward says:

            Thanks Ian.

We have asked Samsung to clarify what the situation is. By the sounds of it there will be an update that rolls out to bring all stock up to date. You’re probably right about it being rushed a bit for that reason.

  2. Mine is missing this feature too (UK version). I really hope this comes in an update as it is one of the reasons I decided to get it on launch after seeing the Korean ad at the weekend.

Shame that it is showing up on some units here and not all.

Anyone experiencing the S-Pen nib loose? There’s a good couple of millimeter give when I press it to the screen.

    • Chris Ward says:

      Hi Paul,

We have now confirmed that all devices will be updated so that they have the Multi-Window feature.

We haven’t had any other complaints about a loose nib on the S-Pen. If you think it’s a manufacturing fault let us know and we will get a return arranged.

      • Hi,

A long shot i know but in your experience, does the nib in the Note II’s S Pen rattle slightly when the pen is shaken? Are they all slightly loose or should there only be movement when the pressure is applied?

If i shake my S Pen, you can feel and hear the slight rattle of the nib. There is a slight lateral as well as vertical movement of the white nib. This handset is a replacement and i’m almost certain the first pen nib was not loose. However, my mind could be playing tricks on me.

        Thanks in advance.

        • Lee,

The nib does rattle a little when shaken. We had to listen quite carefully. This is most certainly to handle the pressure applied to it on screen etc.

Anyone else reading this blog and have concerns over the ‘Multi-View’.
See here for the Clove blog that gives clarification.

Nice one Chris & Jon for getting back to us so promptly.
Now back to the forums for me :)
