Sony Xperia J handset due at the end of next month
We are pleased to confirm that the newly announced Sony Xperia J is due to be available SIM-free the week commencing October 29th, priced at £159 (£190.80 inc. VAT). Initially, it is the black and white versions that are due to arrive. Pink and Gold variants of the J were also announced last week, but as of yet we do not have a SIM-free ETA for these.
The Xperia J is part of a range of new smartphones announced by Sony at IFA last week, which also includes its new flagship, the Xperia T, and the Xperia V. The Xperia J slots into the middle of the new range, which follows on from a similar set of handsets (Xperia S, P and U), which were released earlier this year.
The new Xperia range offers a stylish look that combines the design of Sony’s 2011 ‘Arc’ handsets with that of the Xperias released at the beginning of 2012. As well as this slick new design, the J offers a strong feature set for a handset that comes in at the sub £200 price point:
- Sleek and slender Arc design
- Android 4.0 ICS (due for upgrade to Jelly Bean shortly after launch)
- Bright and clear 4” FWVGA display
- 1GHz Qualcomm processor
- 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
- Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi
- GPS
- xLoud Experience – audio filter technology
- 50GB of cloud storage with Box
- DLNA certified
