Google Play Gift Cards launch, US only for now

The existence of Google Play Gift Cards was first unearthed last week, but they have now been announced officially on Google+ and the Play Store. For the time being the Gift Cards are available in the US only, but hopefully it won’t be too long before we see availability on this side of the pond. Initially the cards will be available at RadioShack GameStop and Target, but are also due to be available in Walmart shortly. They come in $10, $25 and $50 denominations.

So whether you’re buying electronics, games or groceries, you’ll be able to pick up a voucher for your entertainment purposes as well. A good way to get people using Google Play more and another step in the right direction for content distribution.
