Extra gigs for paying users of Dropbox
Dropbox has increased the storage allocation for the pricing tiers for its pro service, providing existing users with a free upgrade in the process. The popular cloud storage service is very good at finding ways to give its users free space, although this one requires no action at all if you do have a pro account.

With Google Drive launching earlier this year, it is needless to say that Dropbox needs to take action to stay at the top of cloud storage provision. Upgrades like this will only help. The 50GB and 100GB tiers of its pro plan have now been upgraded to 100GB and 200GB respectively, with prices remaining the same as before. 50GB users get a free upgrade to 100GB, and 100GB users to 200GB. For just $9.99 a month or $99 for the year, the 100GB option is now great value for money. Some new features have also been shared to the shared storage option for businesses, which starts at 1TB.
As you say, what with other Cloud sources stepping on Dropbox’s toe’s and certain phone manufacturer’s (HTC & Samsung) giving 50GB Free Dropbox accounts with their handsets, it makes perfect sense to now have these increases in the Pro accounts.
