Indoor Google Maps for Android now available in the UK

After being launched in the US late last year, Indoor Google Maps for Android is now available in the UK. This useful service enables you to view the floor plan of various UK attractions, which are listed here. You are also given the option to upload your own floor plan, should you wish to.

At the moment the venues included are mainly train stations, airports and museums. Wembley Stadium and the O2 arena are also included. The ability to look at the layout of a venue could be priceless if you are in a rush and unfamiliar with the destination. If you’re arriving at Waterloo for instance and need to make a connection within twenty minutes, but also want to grab some food, then viewing the floor plan before you pull into the station could save you those vital few minutes that stop you from missing the next train. Or your lunch.
