VLC (Beta) released for Android

VLC is finally here, but don’t expect too much just yet

A couple of weeks ago we posted to say that VLC Player was on its way to Android and we’re pleased to say that the day has finally come.  VLC Beta (NEON version) is now available to download from the Play Store, although its developers do note that it is not a stable release, intended for ‘power users and hackers’. This does mean that many devices are not currently supported, but at least it is a step closer to the polished, fully functioning version that we’re all waiting for.

  1. This is great – I hate having to convert my videos into horrendous formats to watch them on my phone.
