Sony announces Xperia Miro on Facebook

Sony Xperia Miro unveiled ahead of schedule

Sony has made a clever use of social media to announce its latest Android smartphone, the Xperia Miro. The handset was not due to be made public for another few days, but Sony yesterday gave fans the chance to bring the announcement forward, shaving 20 seconds of the countdown for every Facebook Like that it received.

We haven’t had any details through on the handset just yet, which features a 5MP camera and 800MHz processor, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have any info on UK pricing and availability.

Going by the press images released, the Miro uses a more rounded version of the Iconic Identity design in the Sony NXT series handsets, the Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U. Its other features include a Sony’s xLOUD technology, Facebook integration, front facing camera, WiFi and DLNA.
