Channel 5 will make its video on demand service, Demand 5, available on Android devices and connected TVs this summer. Viewing of Demand 5 has doubled in the last 12 months, aided in part by its availability on the iPad. As a result the service is being extended to Samsung and LG connected TVs, the PS3 and the Android marketplace this summer.
The Demand 5 app will join the likes of the BBC iPlayer and ITV Player apps, which would leave channel 4’s 4OD as the only UK catch up TV service to not have an Android app.
