Use LiveWare Manager to configure NFC Smart Tags for the Xperia S

The Sony Xperia S will come pre-loaded with LiveWare Manager, a Sony application that allows you to configure which actions are triggered when specified accessories are connected to the handset. It is LiveWare manager that will enable the configuration of the Sony NFC SmartTags, which are compatible with the Xperia S (and other NFC handsets).

LiveWare manager is not a new application, it has come pre-loaded on the Xperia range for a while and is available to download from the Android market here. At the moment it can be configured to launch actions when headphones, charger or headset are connected. In the screenshots below, you can see an example when connecting a headset. The app will be updated when the Xperia S launches to enable NFC configuration. The Xperia S is due to be here the week commencing March 5th.

  1. May i know if NFC capable nokia headsets can be used to pair the phone.

      Sorry mondenath,

Not sure about the answer to that one and we do not have any Nokia NFC headsets here to test it with.

  2. I’m facing the issue with LiveWare Manager. I got Sony Xperia S recently upgraded to ICS. After that my phone ear speaker is getting disabled and Im taking calls only through Hands free or loud speaker. I tried disabling the LiveWire in Apps and gave a check still the issue remails the same.
The issue started suddenly when I got a call it shows as no buttons available for Headphones and since then the ear speaker is not working.
I thought It might be an upgrading issue I repaired it but no luck

    Any help is much appreciated.

      Sorry Meher,

We can’t help with this one. Probably best to give Sony a call. Give this number a try 08705 237237.
