Samsung has this morning confirmed that it will not be announcing the Samsung Galaxy S III at Mobile World Congress 2012. The rumours have been rife over the last couple of weeks as to when it will be launched and with what spec, so Samsung has now issued an official statement to clarify the situation:

Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012.

“The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.

This will no doubt come as disappointing news for some, but at least it does confirm that the SGS3 is on its way. We’ll keep you updated with any more official news from the Samsung camp.
