ZOMM Wireless Leash–Different but potentially very useful for just £50

ZOMM_BlackZOMM might not be a brand that you have heard of before, but this US company are one that are keen to provide innovative solutions to problems we may not have thought about or that ensure safety and peace of mind.

ZOMM have in fact won a prestigious award at the worlds largest electronic show and is now considered by some as a “must have” for all Bluetooth enabled phones.

Connecting to any Bluetooth enabled mobile phone; the award-winning Wireless Leash has three incredible features packed into a device smaller than a poker chip.

Feature 1 – Mobile phone tracker/reminder

If you are always on the go as a busy office worker, mum or simply a bit forgetful putting your phone down anywhere and everywhere then this is where the ZOMM could come into its own.

Providing you have the ZOMM on you, for example in a bag or attached to some keys (you might be more likely to carry these) the ZOMM will activate if it becomes disconnected with the phone to which it is connected.  This therefore means if you leave the house, by the time you get in the car, the ZOMM will have activated to say you have left your phone behind.  No more getting a couple of miles down the road to realise you have forgotten your phone!

It might not be a big issue if you have left your phone at home, in the car or the office but what if you are out and you pop it down on a table in restaurant or on a cash desk in a shop, just imagine the pain and frustration of being without your phone, because lets be honest often it is gone before you realise and get back to it. It might be replaceable but what about the contacts, the photos and more.

Feature 2 – Bluetooth speaker/hands-free/notification

ZOOMWe have all done it, jumped in the car but forgotten to put on our Bluetooth headset or can’t find it when we need it, so when a call comes through you panic so you don’t miss the call, but you are not paying full attention to what’s going on around you.

The ZOMM is a fully functional Bluetooth speaker for you phone, replacing the need for a Bluetooth headset for many and an ideal device in the above scenario.

Most attach their ZOMM to their keys, which when in a car are normally in the ignition so within easy reach when driving, so you can safely take the call.

As an added benefit the ZOMM does too sound a tone, light up and vibrate when a call or message comes in.

Feature 3 – Emergency dialling

Should you be the user of the ZOMM or be providing it to someone who is more vulnerable than yourself, the simple one press and hold button, will dial a number (that you can programme) during a stressful emergency so you or the user does not have to pull out a phone and dial for emergency assistance. Just press the button, hold it and it will dial.  There may not be an everyday need for this but it is one you could be thankful for.

With the myZOMM app (for Android – downloadable from Android Market), you can alter audible settings on the fly, easily press a button to find your Wireless Leash, and see the last paired location of your Wireless Leash at any time.

Although most will connect the ZOMM to a keying, included in the box is a plastic belt clip as well as a UK mains charger, a USB cable.
