I got a nice surprise last night when the Android Ice Cream Sandwich FOTA update was pushed out to my Samsung Nexus S. Thanks to the screenshot feature of ICS I can easily share some shots of the Nexus S running the latest version of Android.
Of course, there’s no volume bug as there was on the Galaxy Nexus when I first tried Ice Cream Sandwich, but it seems that there’s also no Face unlock, despite the Nexus S having a forward facing camera. Unlike the Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus S has built-in capacitive buttons, which I would say enhances the experience slightly as you have a shortcut to system settings without having the need to put one on the home screen. The recently used apps feature can still be accessed by holding the home key, as is the case with older versions of Android.
I’ll now be downloading GTA III this afternoon so that I can test the USB hosting with a game pad.
Hi Kristo, I noticed that when I came to download it as it wasn’t show as compatible any more! Annoying. Also disappointed as the Nexus S doesn’t seem to support USB hosting either, although I thought it was a feature of ICS.
