  1. Sadly, I gave up on my Milestone 2 and replaced it quite some time ago as they update just didn’t look forthcoming.

At that time I vowed to never buy another Motorola phone as they simply don’t care about customers outside of the US.

Maybe feed that back to them next time you speak to them Clove folks. A year to sort the Gingerbread update is so far short of acceptable that it’s laughable.

    • It is disappointing that it takes so long. Motorola UK will no doubt be interested to hear this so we will pass it on.

      • It’s a huge shame as it was a very nice phone.

I was one of the first to get it and had what seemed like some constructive conversations with Motorola about a few bugs in the initial firmware. They asked sensible questions about the problems and said they were working on a small update to be deployed within a few weeks.

Despite constant promises that it was coming it took them about five months. During most of this time they were failing to give any information on the timescales for the Gingerbread update.

My wife also has a Motorola android phone, the ‘Flipout’. I recognised at the time that it would not be a mass market phone (certainly not in the UK) but the firmware is massively buggy and Motorola simply don’t care about supporting it.

Such a shame. I know several people who bought the last generation of Motorola phones and the overwhelming consensus is good hardware, awful software and a company that couldn’t care less about anything outside of the US.

Perhaps this will change with them being owned by Google (Samsung turned round their Android reputation massively by developing closer ties with Google) but I’m not holding out much hope.
