We now have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in stock at Clove Technology and will begin shipping orders tomorrow. We are aware that some users that purchased handsets from other outlets last week have reported problems with the volume changing erratically. We have been in touch with Samsung regarding this and have been told that our stock has since been through an additional quality control check and should not have the problem. Nonetheless, we will also be testing several handsets ourselves to check for the problem this evening.
Here’s a reminder of the main features of Google’s latest handset:
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 1.2GHz Dual-Core Processor
- 4.65 Super AMOLED Display
- 5MP Rear, 1.3MP Front facing camera
- 16GB Internal Storage
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, NFC, Wi-Fi Direct
- Face Unlock, Android Beam & More
- 3.5mm Audio Jack
- 1GB RAM
And the Box contents:
- Samsung Galaxy Nexus
- Stereo Headset
- Battery 1750mAh
- USB Data/Charge Cable
- Mains Charger (UK)
- Additional Documentation
I hope this one will not disappoint me again
Please verify if your batch has this problem… having to ship back the phone for this type of problem will be very costly, especially to everyone who is outside the UK… which is my case for example.
Please let us know of your finding soonest
really don’t want to have to send it back for a refund
so excited for this phone!
It would be interesting to see if this batch DOES have the problem.
If it doesn’t, then when taken in context with Samsung’s comment regarding having gone through an additional quality control check, this would imply that Samsung knew there was an issue from the start.
The fact that they have then decided to not make a single comment on it all day, is beyond belief.
HOW IS THE TESTING GOING
As Kristo has stated, quality control checks won’t fix what is clearly an inherent design flaw!
guys at clove:
please take your time testing this before u
send to us faulty devices>
Yeah, I was going to order this phone tonight when I read all over internet about this bug and that it’s most likely a hardware problem.
The posts above explain the problem.
@Clove: Can you confirm 100% that your stock doesn’t have this problem?
I’ll wait with my order until I know for sure. I don’t want to order this phone just to find out it’s unusable with 2G.
Hi Clove! Any news? Were you able to reproduce the problem or not?
Any updates??
Did you test your devices yet?
Hoping it was only the first batch of UK devices that were faulty.
Might be ordering if you publish your test results
Still waiting to hear results of additional testing for 2G signal causing erratic volume control. Perhaps over 50% of the posters at the XDA forum have all been unlucky enough to get their Galaxy Nexus from the same faulty batch?
oh dear
IMPORTANT – FAULTS FOUND ON SAMSUNG GALAXY NEXUS”
from handtec twitter account , as they get stock from the same company, thats bad news
Clove,
What is the state of your stock?
I’ve now tested several devices myself and they all have the same issue, to me this it a hardware fault.
It is a joke the Samsung are saying they have put yours through extra QA checks. Last I heard, they we saying it was not an issue and they have had no support calls on the subject.
Can you confirm you have tried the same 2g tests on your batch and they are all working?
We are eager to know!
Handtec have halted all shipments as phones in there Batch had the issue, i’m hoping this company is just as sensible, this will force Samsung/Google to properly look at the issue.
Any news regarding the volume problems? Can you confirm that the stock isn’t affected?

“We are aware of the volume issue and have developed a fix. We will update devices as soon as possible.”
There is a problem in their phones, according to people on XDA forums.
We have now released a statement – http://blog.clove.co.uk/2011/11/23/samsung-galaxy-nexusbug-fix-update/
