Samsung tease Nexus Prime ahead of announcement

On the heels of Apple’s somewhat disappointing iPhone 4S announcement Samsung chose to release this little video teasing the Nexus Prime:

If you view it in 1080p and pause playback in the few moments where the phone is revealed you can see a very appealing design, retaining the curved screen of the Nexus S, but improving on its looks with a slimmer waistline. You can also see three little keys where a camera shutter key would usually reside – let the speculation as to their purpose begin!

Does seeing this make you want a Nexus Prime if you didn’t already? If you were waiting for an iOS-powered handset to upgrade to from your current iPhone 4, does this make you look toward Android?

  1. Andrew Ong says:

The three “keys” look awfully similar to the gold plated connectors for the docks on the Nexus One!

    • Someone else pointed out to me that they could be a dock connection, seems very plausible, but unusual to have them on that side of the device?

  2. Indeed it was canny timing on Samsung’s part, I would think a few disenfranchised iPhone 3GS/4 owners who were waiting for the iPhone 5 may well be tempted to jump ship (I even know a few who sold their iPhone 4 earlier in prep for the 5 so as to get a better price for it, they are not really amused).
