BMW driving app for iOS and Android–The Ultimate Drive

It is the weekend, time is on your side but you have got a journey ahead of you.  You mount your phone in the car cradle and set up the satellite navigation to direct you. 

If you are like me then it will no doubt be set to take you the quickest route (motorways).

Now that is all fine and good if your not a fan of driving and just want to get there.  But if you love the car you own, want to enjoy what it has to offer as well as some scenery to go with it, then BMW has come up with an app for iOS and Android that any self confessed car lover and smartphone junkie will love.

‘The Ultimate Drive’ app as it is known is available for download now and allows you to take the more interesting and scenic driving routes.

With the app you can;

    • Find excellent roads for day trips or long drives
    • Add your favourite roads in minutes
    • Rate or comment on existing roads
    • Show off your BMW or other vehicles by taking a picture for your profile
    • Post your favourite roads on Facebook
    • Email directions to friends with Android phones, iPhones, iPads, iPod touches or even standalone GPS devices
    • Use the standard GPX format to send to your favourite navigation app or device
  • You can download either through the Apple or Android marketplace.

    Okay, I have a 2 week old Volvo XC60 fitted with every extra all for £48k.
    Now if Volvo brought out an App like this for free it would be the icing on the cake.
