HTC Partners With Dr.Dre To Offer Beats Audio

HTC has reportedly bought a majority stake in Dr. Dre’s Beats Audio and will be incorporating the technology into forthcoming handsets (and possibly more). The Taiwanese firm has supposedly injected $300 million into Dre’s audio tech firm, with a Beats enabled handset due for release later this year.

Beats Audio already has partnerships with other firms, including HP, which has the technology built into its TouchPad tablet and some of its laptops. This agreement will continue, although HTC has exclusive rights to use the technology in its smartphones.

I’d be interested to hear from anyone with a pair of Beats headphones, I’ve been put off by the price up until now, although reports have suggested that they are well worth the money! An HTC handset with Beats hardware as well may be too hard to resist.
