We got wind of this yesterday from one of our sources with a rumoured date of August 15th before Samsung had made their official announcement. Now the cat is out of the bag Samsung have made their official press release today and set the UK launch date as September 1st.
The full document contains a spec sheet that confirms what we originally thought; this will be the same 16GB, SuperAMOLED, SGS2 that has been sold in the UK for the last few months – now with a white cover. We can also expect some official Samsung imagery in the next couple of days.

SAMSUNG ANNOUNCES WHITE GALAXY S II TO HIT UK SHORES
Samsung’s most powerful Smartphone yet now available in white from the 1st September
