It looks like the LG Optimus 3D Gingerbread update may not be available now until October. This is slightly frustrating as LG again promised an update ‘soon after launch’, as was the case with the Optimus 2X, which still awaits its Gingerbread update as well. Still, we can’t complain too much as the camera specs were upped just before launch, and the update to Gingerbread 2.3 should add a rather impressive feature so we can understand why it may take a while.
The Gingerbread update for the Optimus 3D will enable it to convert apps to 3D, provided that the application is based on Open GL. The Optimus 3D can already convert videos and photos to 3D, so being able to convert apps as well is an added bonus.
