Android apps for building & construction

610060atsjumsoNot something you might have considered or put in the same sentence.  When we say building & construction you may think a builder in a high-vis jacket drinking tea.

However there is whole other side to construction, those who put the plans together, make sure the measurements are right and so on, and get the project completed, this could be you!

Many (including you) are at the cutting edge on engineering and development in terms of what can be built, where cables can be laid etc.

You no doubt rely on your knowledge and powerful computer programmes, but why carry a laptop around or wait to get back to the office before drawing plans, making adjustments or putting together a quote.

The development in mobile applications and the speed at which they have taken off has been incredible and is doesn’t mean that you have been left behind in terms of mobile applications.

There are a number of applications that could help you. Derek Singleton of Software Advice put together a list to help out:

Roofing Calculator – 4 stars with 4 ratings | $19.99/£12.60
This app is a little pricey but the trade-off is more bang for your buck. For example, roofers can hammer out estimations right at the job site. The app includes features that can calculate roof tear-off costs, miscellaneous material costs, and skylight and chimney costs. It also has features for vent cut-in and installation, roof deck replacement, and roof difficulty. The app requires Android OS 1.6 and up.

A very interesting article HERE(http://www.softwareadvice.com/articles/construction/the-best-construction-android-apps-1061011/ goes into much more depth and shows just how vast the applications are. If you work in any form of construction, from carpentry, to roofing to civil engineering, be sure to check thispost out.
