HTC Sensation MHL Demonstration

Hi everyone!

I noted that there isn’t much on Youtube showing the MHL feature of the HTC Sensation, so I thought I would post up a quick video showing it in use. Threw in a few other things, like Bluetooth Keyboard compatibility, emulator gaming with the Phonejoy controller, and HD-video out, just to give you an idea of what you can do with MHL.

Lots more stuff on the HTC Sensation on the way in the coming days and weeks, in particular how it fares against the Samsung Galaxy S II, so keep an eye out for more content soon! Don’t forget to post questions you have for me in relation to the comparison or Sensation here at the Clove blog.

  1. Hi ! Just left a comment on Youtube, I’ll leave it here too, in case you don’t check on YT^^

Please, just to confirm, because I’m french and I’m not certain I understood everything : You can play with a bluetooth Phonejoy gamepad on your Sensation ? I though it wouldn’t work with Sense interface (It doesn’t work with my wiimote). Do you use Bluez-IME ? And last of all, can you please give us a link to know where you bought your Phonejoy ?

    Thanks very much !

    • My answer (also in Youtube):
Hi there! Yes, the Phonejoy works (as you can see in the video!). The Phonejoy with Bluez IME uses the Bluetooth HID profile, which HTC have now added to their newest phones (thats why the bluetooth keyboard I used in the video also works). it doesn’t require the stock bluetooth stack like WiiMotes do. If you Google Phonejoy the first link takes you to the place I got mine (the only place as it happens, they are releasing one with dual analog sticks soon too!).

  2. Just got my answer, thanks ;)

  3. Hi,
Just a very dumb question.. but does this MHL feature works with all TVs ..?
I recently read a topic on LG launching a TV to utilise MHL capabilities of the Senation and Glaxy S2.
    Please clarify!
    thanks

    • No the MHL feature will not work with all TVs but should work with most that have an HDMI input available.

A TV that is optimised may have the MHL adaptor built into the televsion.
