As we all know, release dates are always subject to change but we’ve had word today that the first stock of the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100, both the 16GB & 32GB versions, will be landing mid to late March. This is slightly sooner than expected as it was previously thought that Samsung’s new superphone would not be available until some time in Q2.
The prices that we have listed are correct at this time, but are subject to change. Regrettably the 16GB model has increased in price since its original listing in the Clove website. If you place a pre order today, you will not be charged and once the final price and availability has been confirmed, you will be given the option to proceed with or cancel the order.
For customers that have already placed an order for the 16GB model at the lower price, please contact us quoting your order reference number, confirming whether or not you agree to the revised price, or whether you wish to change to the 32GB model. Previously the 32GB model was not listed, but we have now had confirmation that it will be available.
We now have the two variation of the SGS2 listed at the following prices:
Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 (16GB) - £510 + VAT
Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 (32GB) – £590 + VAT
For those of you that haven’t seen them already, here’s a run through of the specs of the Galaxy S 2:
- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- TouchWiz 4.0 UI
- 1 GHz dual-core Exynos processor
- 1GB RAM
- 4.3″ 480 x 800 Super AMOLED Plus display
- 16 or 32GB internal storage
- Up to 32GB micro SDHC
- NFC ready
- A-GPS with Google Maps including Latitude, Places, Navigation (beta)
- SWYPE text input
- 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi
- 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash
- 2MP front-facing camera
- 1650mAh Li-ion battery
- 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49 mm
- 116g

I hope Samsung know what they are doing….. as this will make the SGS2 the most expensive Smartphone available to the general public.
What we don’t know yet is how the customer is going to be able to update the phone.
Previously, upgrades required the PC software Kies which as quite a lot of users know is problematic at best.
With this very high price, Samsungs past history in not looking after it’s user base very well and Kies it is going to take a huge effort by Samsung to sell this phone to the general public.
Obviously those who have not had any dealings before with Samsung willl not be aware of the pitfalls…. However, those who are past customers will be all to familiar.
It’s up to you Samsung to get it right and I don’t mean in just the phone.
Ouch, ~£600 inc VAT….
I find it hard to see how this is justified.
Hi Jon,
Yes, £600 inc VAT is a lot.
I am thinking of the 32GB model so £708 inc VAT sounds even harder to swallow, especially given Samsungs record and past history.
The 32GB does typify it… £100 for an extra 16GB of flash memory is very hard to swallow.
It will be the history that stops me considering this now I think. When it looked reasonably cheap (which I had attributed to Samsung’s economies of scale) I was almost tempted.
Now, I think it’s a wait and see again. See how it’s received, see how the price falls over time.
We have to admit that the devices are expensive in comparison to other handsets out there, but the iPhone justifies massive price premiums often.
Lets hope Samsung realise that a lower price will attract more customers…reality is though it is popular irrespective of price!
If it is advertised like the Galaxy S was (and still is) then no doubt there will be lot of new customers interested.
How their interest remains once they find out the price will be another thing…
However, for those who have already been let down by Samsung or are aware of the previous problems, they will be the customers harder to convince.
This price surely means the galaxy s2 will have poor sales, was really considering this but seeing as the motorola atrix, optimus x2,optimus 3d are comparable but much cheaper i can’t see anyone justifying this extreme price
Yes there is more competition out there this year so it will be interesting to see how it fairs up compared to the other handsets
pff it means 728 euro if the prices still so high –’
If Samsung had to Double the price of it as compared to Galaxy S, then they wulnt have taken it out of market… If at all it is true then it is Foolish Mgmt. They r going to suffer huge losses.. Coz there are 2 many Buyers in market with Rs. 28K in hand but Galaxy S is not there..If S II is anything more than 30-32K, then bye bye samsung. I think HTC Desire HD is a much better buy in that case
I wouldn’t put the HTC Desire HD in the same class as the SGS2…. not by a long mile.
I will only decide if the price is too high after contact with the phone. iPhone 4 feels quality and for that I expect it to cost more.
For the price of the S2, quality has to be the main issue. The specs and hardware of the phone cannot be questioned, that leaves build quality.
We wont know that until the device ships, so despite already ordering the phone, may be I should wait.
when it is going to launch in India?
Any Idea?
Sorry no we do not know – but we can ship to India
So when exactly it will be available to you people & what will be the Pre-order price in terms of Indian Rupees???
We’re expecting the first uk stock to be available at the beginning of May. You can convert the price at http://www.xe.com
So, do you ship to India?
If yes then what about warranty? & by when I can expect this shipment to reach India?
Expansys says that it will be available in the next month (April) only….
Do you ship to Bahrain? What about the warranty?
We do ship to Bahrain. The warranty is still applicable, but it would have to come back to the UK for repair under warranty should something go wrong.
Thank you for your reply. Other questions; What will be the price of the 16GB including shipping cost and how long would it take to reach Bahrain?
The total with DHL shipping (£30) would be £470 and would take 2-3 working days to be delivered once dispatched. You can view shipping options and total price by adding items to your basket and proceeding to checkout. This will not commit you to buying the items.
Hi, im from Kuwait and dealing with aramex
and my question is do ship to Kuwait by aramex and how
much total price of galaxy s2, my last question s2 available now or not (thank you)
Yes we can ship to Aramex UK for you, so you would pay UK shipping. You would then make arrangements with them to have the package shipped. The first stock of the Galaxy S 2 is due at the beginning of May, the total with UK shipping would be £536.40.
thank you
Not for USA, because will be WITHOUT SIM card slot! So, no good to use in Americas. Why no 32 Gb? It supposed to get at same date! It’s not more different than the capacity.
plz angel this phone work in kuwait or you mean dont work, because I add this phone to my basket, and in kuwait use sim card, we want more explanation for this point.
thank you….
Hi i have important question you know im from Kuwait with is out side UK and i want ask you should the price include vat and im dealing with aramex
thank you
HI Waleed, VAT is removed for orders shipped outside of the EU, so you will not pay VAT if the order is shipped to Kuwait.
Does the Galaxy S II support arabic language?
Yes
Thank you for your reply.
I just want to reconfirm your answer. Do i need to root the phone or does it come out of the box with Arabic language support?
Because if it is the case, i will order one right now.
It does not support Arabic out of the box, although you should be able to alter the language settings using the app MoreLocale 2 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale&feature=search_result
However we are not sure to what extent it changes the language setting to Arabic
Thank you. I will wait for an official release from Samsung for our region then. I hope it does not take very long!!!
I preordered GS2 from Clove in April and received it in may BUT I was disappointed as its not arabic supported .. I confirm NO ARABIC SUPPORT .. should I sent it back to you and have the supported one or what? Please advise.
Greetings Clove,
I would like to know when does the Samsung Galaxy SII officially releases in Kuwait? I’ve been hearing rumors like the date has been pushed back yet again till July?
Haven’t heard anything about an official release in Kuwait, but we can ship one to Kuwait for you if you like.
Thank you for the quick reply. Will inform if I will order it from your website.
