New BlackBerry Curve 8980 on its way?

It looks like there may be a new version of the BlackBerry Curve on its way, the 8980. Details have emerged after the 8980 was submitted for FCC approval in the US.

This follows the release of the Blackberry Bold 9780, the latest handset in the BlackBerry Bold Range.

The BlackBerry Curve range has been highly popular since its launch and the BB Curve 8980 is an addition to the Curve models 8900, 8520 and 9300 that are currently available.

At the moment, it looks like the 8980 may effectively be a replacement for the 8520, going by the rumoured spec of a QVGA screen and 3.2 Megapixel Camera.
