Brits spent 2.16 billion minutes on Facebook mobile in December.
While it’s hardly a surprise that Facebook has been revealed as the most popular site accessed from mobile phones, the sheer level of it’s dominance is quite something to behold.
A report into mobile web habits by GSMA has revealed that nearly half of all time spent online is with the social networking behemoth. In December, UK mobile users clocked-up 6.7 billion page views, with 2.7 billion of those on Facebook.
The 16 million Brits who use their phones to access the web spent 4.8 billion minutes online, again with a massive proportion of 2.16 billion minutes spent updating statuses and writing on their friends’ walls throughout the festive season.
Next in line were the homepages of Orange and O2, which would naturally be the first port of call for users opening the web browser on those networks. When T-Mobile and 3 are added to the figures in the coming weeks, the numbers are expected to be even higher.
