We have brought you news recently of Acer’s new Windows Mobile range of devices, which we are excitied to see. However there is an increasing amount of information coming to fruition that the newest entrant to the smartphone industry is set to release a Google Android powered handset before the year is out.
Although nothing has been officially substantiated by Acer, the sources for the information suggest that this could indeed be true.
So before the year is out there could be an Acer Android handset, thought to be named the Acer A1. The A1, which we believe is a code name at this time, will offer a product quite different to that of the current range, which is more than likely to appeal to Google fans and a wider audience than the current Windows Mobile devices.
We will of course bring you any information as we have it.
Just in case you did miss it the other day, there are new names for the Acer devices that we previously known as the C1, E1, F1 and L1.
The new names are as follows:
Acer F1 will be called the Acer neoTouch
Acer C1 will be called the Acer beTouch E100
Acer E1 will be called the Acer beTouch E101
Acer L1 will be called the Acer beTouch E200
