It appears that,in line with general experience of broadband, users tend to suffer frustratingly sluggish connections whilst out and about.
In a recent survey of 3500 mobile broadband connections the averageĀ speeds achieved were significantly slower than those claimed through advertising. In fact the average was just 1.1mbs.
Various reasons have been suggested for this including the issue that people tend to be moving, but surely this is not unexpected!Further the time of day and number of users can have a bearing but these sound like excuses.
The logical solution to pacify people or perhaps pre empt user frustration would be to advertise average anticipated speeds.
